Why Ionized Minerals Are Your Optimal Option
For those wondering WHY our Ionic-Fizz™ products work so well – It’s simple: Bioavailability! When Ionic-Fizz™ is added to water a chemical reaction occurs which allows the product to get into your system quickly, while providing a pleasant tasting drink.
Why "Ionic" Forms Of Magnesium and Calcium Work Best.
Our bodies can absorb minerals in two ways:
The first is via “active protein transport,” in which the mineral attaches to a protein, which carries it through the intestinal lumen (wall) into the bloodstream.
The second is by passive diffusion through Osmosis, where a greater concentration of something on one side of a barrier creates pressure to pull it to the other.
While there are many types of magnesium and calcium supplements, we believe ionized versions are optimal as they provide the only mineral forms which can be absorbed BOTH ways. Mineral ions provide a “predigested” form, meaning they are absorbed without stomach acid (hydrochloric acid or HCL). We all produce HCL but we make less as we age and this makes mineral absorption more difficult.
We need both calcium and magnesium in our diet each day because there is a constant turnover of minerals in our bones. Calcium is an essential part of teeth and bones, but it is also necessary for the heart, nerves, muscles, and blood-clotting system. While calcium causes muscles to contract, magnesium allows muscles to relax.
Causes of Deficiency
Over 99% of calcium in the body is stored in teeth and bones, and the bones release it into the rest of the body as needed. Our body pulls calcium from bones to maintain a proper acid/alkaline balance in the blood, and pulls old calcium out to make room for new calcium. It is just like repainting the house, where the old paint is chipping off and a new coat is necessary to maintain the structure, especially as bones are constantly being “remodeled.”
Calcium reserves also decline with age and absorption can vary greatly depending on gender and race, which means we need to make sure we are getting enough at every stage of life.
Magnesium helps bones retain their flexibility so they can withstand stress without breaking. Studies show that magnesium intake is correlates strongly with bone health.
Taking calcium without magnesium can lead to the mineral being deposited in the wrong places such as kidneys (kidney stones) or in the circulatory system (hardening of the arteries – atherosclerosis), therefore it is vital that these complementary minerals are ingested in just the right proportions.
Why do you need minerals to get into your system quickly?
Bioavailability should be an issue for any supplement. Supplements, which sit in the gut instead of getting into the bloodstream, are at risk of excretion rather than performing as needed. You might say they are in danger of ending up ‘in the loo, instead of in you’! While slow release options are also necessary, there are some issues:
Migraine, cramps (muscle and menstrual), Restless Leg Syndrome (RLS), digestive issues, rebalancing electrolytes and rehydration which require more urgency. Of course, increasing vital minerals in your system works in the longer term too.

Magnesium is the world's most overlooked nutrient. It is important for more than 300 chemical reactions and processes that keep the body functioning properly. Magnesium is involved in good heart health, helps to maintain cholesterol within the normal range, healthy immune system, bone growth and maintenance, hearing, energy and endurance, nerves, digestion, skin, muscles… well, you get the picture. Your body relies on it to function.
Magnesium is essential for good health, yet many people, particularly women, African Americans, and the elderly do not consume enough in their regular diets. Over 80% of Americans fail to get even the minimum daily requirement for magnesium, with fewer than one in 20 people getting the amount that progressive nutritionists suggest
Provides an excellent source of calcium and magnesium in ionic form, in a ratio which builds healthy bones and supports metabolism in general. This formula also provides other co-nutrients necessary for strong bones.
In addition to calcium and magnesium, other complementary nutrients can boost bone health. These include beta-carotene, vitamin C, vitamin B6, folate, vitamin B12, zinc, copper, manganese, potassium, silica, boron, and other trace elements. Ionic-Fizz™ Super D-K Calcium Plus™ includes them all in a blend that we believe is one of the most supportive bone health supplements ever offered.
