Let’s be honest, life has been pretty stressful lately and no one is immune to it. We juggle a variety of responsibilities every day just trying to handle the new norm. Throw current world events on top of it all and it becomes no wonder we are all seeking ways to manage stress.

Now we aren’t going to promise you that drinking this smoothie alone will banish any stress or anxiety in your life, but, when combined with a plan that works for you, it may help give you the extra boost you need (in addition to being a delicious treat).

The Ingredients

Ionic-Fizz™ Magnesium Plus™: Magnesium can help reduce stress hormones, reduce inflammation, and relax our nerves.

Blueberries: When we're anxious and stressed, our bodies crave vitamin C to help repair and protect our cells, and blueberries are packed full of it along with antioxidants.

Spinach: A great source of folate, a B Vitamin that can help your body produce serotonin and dopamine. Spinach is also rich in magnesium.

Avocado: Loaded with nutrients like B vitamins, vitamin E, potassium and magnesium all of which work together to help keep glucose levels steady, preventing mood swings.

Almond Milk, unsweetened: A good source of vitamin E and magnesium.

Cocoa: Reduces levels of the stress hormone - cortisol - as well as the “fight-or-flight” hormones known as catecholamines.

Chia Seeds: Contain tryptophan an amino acid that releases serotonin in the brain and promotes a feeling of calmness.

Add all of the ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth.

Notes: If you'd rather your smoothie be a bit sweeter, add some raw honey or pure maple syrup to taste.
