You may be wondering why we’re sharing a smoothie recipe in the middle of January – one of the coldest months of the year. But hear us out – a smoothie like this is perfect all year long.
For starters, like most smoothies this one is healthy, filling, and a perfect choice for breakfast or as a snack. It’s everything you want from a smoothie – quick, easy, and PACKED with flavor!
From the bite of ginger and the sweetness of mango and berries, this recipe will appease your taste buds, perk up your senses, and provide, an always appreciated, immune boost to your body.
And if you think it’s weird to have ginger in a smoothie, we dare you to try it and say it doesn’t work. You may be surprised to find that ginger is your new favorite smoothie ingredient!
But really, why Ginger?
Ginger is chock full of a powerful anti-inflammatory and antioxidant compound called gingerol, which is responsible for most of its healing properties. It has been used for centuries to soothe the stomach and ease nausea. It has also been shown to help with joint pain, heart health, indigestion, and even menstrual cramps. Most importantly though, ginger has anti-bacterial properties and can help fight (and possibly prevent) infections!
Combine that with the vitamins and antioxidants from the mango, berries, and lime juice, and you get the reason this smoothie is perfect year-round – it’s a deliciously invigorating immune-boosting smoothie!
