Do you ever look back on your childhood, teen years, and even early 20’s and wish you had that kind of energy again? I know I do. Some days I’m ready to crawl into bed at 7pm or I find myself barely able to keep my eyes open while I’m working.

Nutrition plays a huge role in our energy levels and by eating the right types of foods, you can give your body a natural energy boost. If you stay hydrated, choose whole foods over processed foods, and make sure you don’t skip meals, the energy will be there.

Sometimes it’s hard to stay on track though. Life gets busy and you find yourself skipping meals or eating whatever is easiest. If you find yourself in that category (and even if you don’t), this energy-boosting smoothie bowl is for you! It is a quick, easy, tasty meal that you can enjoy in a bowl or thrown into a cup. It combines a perfect mix of protein, fiber, complex carbs, antioxidants, and superfoods that provide sustained energy without the jitters and crash that is inevitable with caffeine.

Energy-Boosting LifeEssence Smoothie Bowl

Meet the Ingredients

Because this is an energy-boosting smoothie, it’s necessary to have ingredients that can provide carbs, fiber, healthy fats, and of course – vitamins and minerals. Simple carbs and natural sugar help fuel the body’s immediate energy needs, while fiber and healthy fats can help sustain the energy long-term. Vitamins and minerals provide complimentary nourishment to help your body use the other components effectively.

Fruits, veggies, and nuts/seeds are fantastic sources of these energy-components, that’s why we chose these:

Banana – Provides carbs, potassium, and vitamin B6.

Avocado – Rich in healthy fats, B vitamins, and fiber.

Kiwi – Rich in vitamin C, but also provides iron and vitamins B9.

Raw Spinach – High in iron, calcium, magnesium, potassium, and vitamins A, C, E, and K, but also provides folic acid, fiber, and antioxidants.

Raspberries Provides carbs, fiber, and natural sugar. We have used raspberries, but really any berry will work just fine.

Pro-Tip: fresh berries taste great, but frozen berries make a thicker smoothie. Try freezing your own berries to get the best of both worlds!

Chia Seeds – High in plant-based omega-3 fatty acids, but also provides fiber and protein.

Almond Milk – Provides proteins, carbs, and healthy fats.

And for an extra flourish, we recommend a serving of LifeEssence™ Powder – a whole-food based, energizing multivitamin. LifeEssence™ Powder uses superfoods like chlorella, oat grass, and North Atlantic kelp, as well as rich botanicals and energizing herbs like ginseng, green tea, and goji berries to maximize nourishment, improve energy levels, and support antioxidant systems.*

It also has a natural lemon-lime flavor that works wonderfully with frozen raspberries, banana, kiwi, avocado, and almond milk!

And of course, the most fun part of a smoothie bowl are the toppings! Have fun with this and add things like hemp, chia, raspberries, blackberries, granola, dark chocolate chunks, and sliced banana or kiwi to give it texture and boost the nutrition.

We hope you enjoy!
